Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jay Reepo (ranked 128 p4p, 126 weight class) and James River (ranked 11 p4p, 10 weight class). Jay Reepo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to James River 's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jay Reepo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, James River ! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reepo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. River prevents a body shot from Reepo. Reepo tries to stall but River uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

River stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Reepo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. River is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Reepo is just riding it out for now. River eventually gives up the hold. Reepo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. River is working away from the top position though.

River with the ground and pound but Reepo uses the opportunity to regain guard. River lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hammerfist, elbow! yells River 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! River postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. River has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Reepo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! River has picked Reepo up and slammed him! Reepo can't keep hold of the triangle and River manages to pass to side control! River is looking to take a break and control but Reepo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Reepo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James River dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Reepo throws a jab when River was well out of range. River throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Reepo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. River misses with a looping right. Reepo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Reepo fails in his attempt to clinch. Reepo throws a lazy right hand but River sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. River misses with a series of wild punches.

River has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Reepo is landing a low percentage of strikes. Reepo misses with a lunging right hand
and River counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by River . Reepo keeping moving, preventing River from controlling successfully. River works over Reepo with some ground and pound from guard. River trying to control the position from guard on top but Reepo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reepo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. River doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. River manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Reepo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! River escapes and throws Reepo's legs to the side, diving into side control! Reepo sneaks back into half guard. Nice strikes from River there. River perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. River has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. River scoring with strikes but Reepo is staying in there.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Reepo tries to reverse the position but River maintains control. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, River cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
James River has got the better of the ground game so far. River controlling the position easily from mount. River pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. River landing punches. River connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Reepo sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. River is pressing down on Reepo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Reepo is holding on for now. River trying to control from Reepo's half guard. Reepo has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Reepo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Reepo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. River gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reepo is trying to control the position but River postures up. River trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. River scoring with some ground and pound. River stands up over Reepo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. River winds up and cracks Reepo with a swinging punch to the side of the head. River lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that's the end of the fight! James River comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got River winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
