The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tokugawa instigates a clinch.
Wright prevents a body shot from Tokugawa.
Wright is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tokugawa is defending well.
Tokugawa struggles to land a body shot inside as Wright controls his hands.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tokugawa has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Wright has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

I was talking to Tokugawa's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Tokugawa throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wrights head.
Tokugawa lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wright backwards.
Tokugawa lands a body shot in the clinch.
Wright wants the takedown. Tokugawa is fighting it off but Wright persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tokugawa's guard against the cage.

Tokugawa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wright's guard.
Wright is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tokugawa tries to free his leg and advance position but Wright is retaining full guard.

Minato Tokugawa dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wright lands a lovely overhand right.
Wright moves in looking to clinch but Tokugawa pushes him off.
Wright connects with a crisp jab.
Tokugawa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wright counters with a nice uppercut.
Tokugawa works Wright's body with a nice hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright dives in for a single leg takedown but Tokugawa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wright throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tokugawa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wright is in Tokugawa's guard.
Tokugawa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wright on the ground.

Tokugawa has momentary wrist control but Wright slips an elbow through the middle.
Tokugawa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wright manages to get himself to full guard.
Wright doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Wright is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Tokugawa has his hands clasped together but Wright extends and breaks Tokugawa's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Wright.
