PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chokyi Tsering (ranked 1856 p4p, 2739 weight class) and King Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tsering has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Chokyi Tsering! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Watson! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tsering dips to his left and cracks Watson with an uppercut! Watson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Watson staying out of range there. Tsering connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A jab from Tsering finds it's way through Watson's defenses. Tsering is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Tsering slips a jab from Watson. Tsering is looking to counter punch. Watson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Tsering's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Tsering duly obliges. Tsering jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Watson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Tsering misses with a jab, cross combination.
This has been an exciting period of action! Watson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tsering.

Watson moves into the clinch successfully.
Tsering goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Tsering really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tsering is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Watson is defending well for now.
Tsering breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tsering looks to land a right hand but Watson moved out of range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Tsering throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Watson to counter with a crisp jab.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Tsering gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tsering is looking to stand back up but Watson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Tsering.

Watson escapes and gets back to his feet. Tsering is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Watson forces Tsering back against the cage and clinches. Tsering tries to land knees in the clinch but Watson avoids the damage to the body. A short right hand to the side of the head by Watson.
Watson manages to break the clinch.
Tsering fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Watson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Watson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Watson throws a nice looking combination but Tsering bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Good exchange - Tsering coming out on top. Decent striking displayed by Tsering there.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Tsering looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Decent striking displayed by Tsering there. Tsering scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Tsering throws a shot to the body.
Tsering feints a jab promting Watson to slip. Tsering then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Watson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Watson looks to score with a jab to the body but Tsering is just out of range. Watson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Tsering lands a right hook to the body.
Tsering misses with the combination.
Tsering is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Watson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tsering was well out of range. Poor timing from Watson. Watson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tsering connects with a right hand. Watson shakes it off. Watson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Tsering keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Tsering lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Tsering finds it's way through Watson's defenses. Tsering misses with a looping right.
Watson forces Tsering back against the cage and clinches. Tsering has a couple of punches blocked by Watson.

Watson jumps guard.
Tsering stands up from Watson's guard - Tsering perhaps looking for a knockout. Watson takes a shot to the body in his stride.

As Tsering backs off Watson throws a huge counter combo but Tsering manages to avoid it all. Watson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Tsering getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Tsering jabs Watson right on the nose. Watson blinks but takes it well. Watson shoots in but Tsering avoids the takedown attempt easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Watson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Tsering lands a nice looking body shot.
Watson has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Tsering lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Watson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tsering breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Danga de danga de dang - Tsering scores with a four punch combination!
Watson clinches up with Tsering and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tsering can't find room to land a body shot as Watson controls the action.
Watson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A head punch on the inside from Tsering fails to land. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Chokyi Tsering dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Watson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tsering tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Watson is trying to trip Tsering. He has hold of a leg but Tsering is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Watson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Tsering wants to stand but Watson is controlling the position. Tsering is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Watson dives into side control.
Tsering tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tsering is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watson controlling his opponent. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tsering tries to buck Watson off but he can't manage it. Watson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Watson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tsering is looking to escape. Tsering is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Watson can do to turn this around? Tsering is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
King Watson has got the better of the ground game so far. Watson content just to control the position here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Watson trying to control but Tsering is having none of it. Tsering is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Watson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Tsering wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Tsering trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Watson controlling the position easily from mount.
Tsering wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Watson has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Tsering taps furiously! This one is all over!
