Polamalu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Polamalu somewhat.

Joe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Polamalu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Polamalu lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Joe quite badly. Joe pulls Polamalu in close trying to recover. Polamalu postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Joe on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Joe doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Polamalu!
