Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Decimus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ales Smid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smid has chosen Sandstorm as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ales Smid was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximus Decimus Meridius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ales Smid!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meridius checks a low kick from Smid.
A lazy left from Meridius finds it's target.
Meridius throws a jab when Smid was well out of range.
Smid scores with a kick to the midsection.
Smid throws a sloppy head kick and Meridius moves out of range easily.
Meridius drops his hands momentarily and Smid takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Meridius throws a head kick that misses
and Smid counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smid misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smid lands with an overhand left.
Meridius throws a head kick but Smid moves out of range.
Meridius throws a body kick that misses.
Smid misses with a head kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smid.

and Meridius counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round.

and Smid counters with a nice kick to the body.
Meridius is breathing heavily.
Meridius has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smid finds it's way round the side to connect with Meridius's head.
It looks like Maximus Decimus Meridius has been cut.
Meridius moves out of range as Smid throws a body kick.
Meridius moves out of range of the body kick.
Meridius swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Smid.
Smid lands a big head kick that sends Meridius tumbling to the mat! Smid takes a step backwards and waves Meridius back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Meridius is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Meridius gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Smid counters with a solid body kick.
Oh Meridius is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smid feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Meridius's calf.
Meridius seems to have got his legs back now.
Smid throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Meridius on the side of the head.
Smid throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Meridius steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Smid. That one must have hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smid throws the kick towards the body but Meridius avoids it.
Smid lands a big uppercut and Meridius crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Meridius looks OK. Smid waves Meridius back to his feet!
Smid throws a monster overhand right that drops Meridius! Smid follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ales Smid!
