The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maloney throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Maloney is looking to clinch. Maloney tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fen fails to land the takedown. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Maloney - that will leave a mark!
Cohen Maloney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maloney was well out of range. Poor timing from Fen. Fen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maloney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Maloney is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fen asserts his dominance and retains side control. Fen wants to control but Maloney is keeping him busy. Fen cracks Maloney with a big right hand but Maloney just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Fen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maloney knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fen cracks Maloney with an elbow. That is naaassty. Maloney tries to escape but Fen is in control. Fen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Fen trying to control the action but Maloney is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maloney wants to get back to his feet. Fen throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Maloney misses with a body kick. Fen takes a swing at Maloney's ribcage but misses. Fen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maloney to the mat! Maloney manages to get full guard. Fen tries to free his leg and advance position but Maloney is retaining full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fen's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fen wants to pass the guard but Maloney is keeping the position. Fen prevents Maloney from getting back to his feet. Maloney keeping moving, preventing Fen from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fen is really struggling to control Maloney but he's trying to hold on to the position. Fen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maloney works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Fen trying to control the position from guard on top but Maloney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fen stops Maloney from standing up. Fen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Maloney misses with a body punch
and Fen counters with a single leg into guard. Maloney didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Li Fen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Maloney wants to clinch and Fen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fen trying to control the position from guard on top but Maloney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fen looking to pass the guard. Maloney keeping moving, preventing Fen from controlling successfully. Maloney pushes Fen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Fen takes a swing at Maloney's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maloney misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from Maloney. Fen jabs Maloney right on the nose. Maloney blinks but takes it well. Maloney throws a right and a left that both miss. Maloney tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Maloney throws a sloppy head kick and Fen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fen. Fen has gone for a leg lock! Maloney slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fen's guard. Maloney trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fen's guard. Maloney wants to control from the top but Fen keeps moving. Maloney must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maloney would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Fen is trying to control the position but Maloney postures up. Fen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maloney is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Fen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maloney manages to get himself to full guard.
Maloney wants to stand but Fen is controlling the position. Maloney preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maloney keeping full guard, as Fen tries to pass. Fen is pushing down on Maloney's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maloney is fighting to maintain full guard but Fen has managed to sneak the leg through. Fen thows a huge punch but Maloney dodges it nicely.
Fen is keen to just control but Maloney is a slippery customer. Maloney is trying to stand up here but Fen is controlling him well. Maloney is breathing heavily.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Fen avoids a kick to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maloney but Maloney pushes him off and we're back to square one. Maloney stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maloney wants it to stay on the feet. Maloney throws the kick towards the body but Fen avoids it. Maloney tries to clinch but Fen moves away and Fen counters with a single leg into guard. Maloney didn't expect that. Fen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Fen won't allow Maloney to get back to his feet. Fen looking to sit in guard and control but Maloney gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Maloney preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fen misses with a takedown attempt - Maloney sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Maloney looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Fen blocks a head kick by Maloney.
Fen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Maloney throws a push kick but Fen slaps the foot to one side. Maloney closes the distance looking to clinch and Fen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Maloney is defending against the submission attempts here by Fen.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fen is stalling here. Maloney is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Maloney has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Maloney decides to stand back up. Maloney lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fen's sensitive parts. Maloney is looking to score with low kicks. Maloney wants to slow Fen down by chopping away at his legs. Maloney scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maloney closes the distance but Fen moves to the side and Fen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fen looking to pass the guard. Fen distracts Maloney with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Fen stops Maloney from standing up. Fen tries to free his leg and advance position but Maloney is retaining full guard. Fen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maloney dives on top into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maloney decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fen, up you get! Cohen Maloney has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fen dodges the punch combination from Maloney.
Cohen Maloney is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fen shoots in looking for a takedown. Maloney tries to sprawl out of it but Fen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maloney manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Li Fen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Maloney closes the distance looking to clinch and Fen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Maloney! Maloney tries to buck Fen off but he can't manage it. Maloney is squirming around, avoiding Fen's attempts to control the action. Maloney is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fen tries to control but Maloney wriggling away. A nice elbow there by Fen. Fen tries to control but Maloney wriggling away. Fen fails to move to back control. Fen trying to control but Maloney is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Li Fen showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
