Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evander Hollyfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evander Hollyfield could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jim Daniels's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Evander Hollyfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Daniels! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hollyfield is trying to defend but Daniels finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Daniels thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hollyfield is looking to escape. Ground and pound from Daniels. Daniels wants to control but Hollyfield is keeping him busy. Hollyfield wants to get back to his feet. Daniels wants to take a breather but Hollyfield is having none of it. Daniels throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Daniels missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hollyfield moves in looking to clinch but Daniels pushes him off. Evander Hollyfield is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Daniels turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Daniels scores with a punch to the head. Evander Hollyfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Daniels closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Evander Hollyfield has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hollyfield tries to clinch up. Nice body punch from Daniels. Daniels buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hollyfield is breathing heavily. Daniels scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Daniels works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Daniels moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Daniels scores with punches from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels trying to control the action but Hollyfield is working from the bottom. Daniels working the ground and pound from side control. Hollyfield managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Daniels.
Daniels throws a strike aimed at the side of Hollyfield's head but Hollyfield avoids it well. Hollyfield avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Daniels.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Daniels in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Daniels in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. You can see the frustration on Hollyfield's face as Daniels controls the position. Hollyfield takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Daniels is looking to take a break and control but Hollyfield is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daniels tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hollyfield takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hollyfield is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Daniels asserts his dominance and retains side control. Daniels looks up at the clock and then as Hollyfield takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Daniels smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Daniels dominated that round. The cut man is working on Evander Hollyfield's cut. That's time! Hollyfield's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hollyfield tries a head kick but it misses.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Daniels - that will leave a mark!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hollyfield looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A right-left combo lands from Daniels. Daniels works Hollyfield's body with a nice hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hollyfield tries to clinch up but Daniels circles away and keeps his distance. Jim Daniels seems to be getting the better of the standup. Daniels bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Daniels looking to control but instead Hollyfield has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Daniels stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hollyfield to regain full guard. Hollyfield utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Daniels landing with the ground and pound. Daniels has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Daniels's corner is telling him to maintain position. Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Hollyfield is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hollyfield on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hollyfield tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels stays in close to Hollyfield's body and controls the position. Daniels trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Daniels passes into half guard. Jim Daniels has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels trying to mount his opponent but Hollyfield defends it. Daniels is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Daniels winds up and cracks Hollyfield with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Daniels trying to mount his opponent but Hollyfield defends it. Hollyfield keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Daniels perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Daniels trying to pass the guard but Hollyfield defending well. Daniels is just content to waste time from the top position. Hollyfield takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Daniels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hollyfield swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hollyfield is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Daniels is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Daniels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Evander Hollyfield's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Hollyfield tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daniels paws at him with a jab and circles away. Daniels moves into range and connects with a jab. Hollyfield throws a jab when Daniels was well out of range. Daniels lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Hollyfield takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Daniels lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Daniels. Daniels scores with a punch to the head. Daniels scores a takedown into full mount! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Daniels is landing with some decent strikes but Hollyfield is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hollyfield is rocked! Hollyfield is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Daniels cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Daniels in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Daniels is landing with some decent strikes but Hollyfield is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Daniels working the ground and pound effectively.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daniels fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
This has been an exciting period of action! Daniels punching from mount but Hollyfield doing a good job of avoiding damage. Evander Hollyfield has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Daniels pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Daniels trying to control but Hollyfield is having none of it. Daniels landing strikes from the mount and Hollyfield is in trouble! Daniels with shots to the head and body - Hollyfield looks very uncomfortable down there. A nice elbow there by Daniels. Hollyfield is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels with a couple of short strikes. Daniels tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Daniels throws some wild stikes that Hollyfield manages to avoid easily.
Daniels looking to control but Hollyfield is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Daniels throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Jim Daniels is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daniels controlling from mount. Daniels has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Daniels's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Daniels comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Daniels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
