Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Dance Hall Days as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Jacobs! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Jones! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jones moves away from the strike by Jacobs. Jacobs scores with a takedown into Jones's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jacobs postures up and lands a big shot to Jones's brow. Jacobs trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jacobs wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Jacobs trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Jacobs is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control. Jones keeping moving, preventing Jacobs from controlling successfully. Jacobs passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Jacobs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Jones holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jacobs tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Jones wants to hold on but Jacobs pushes him away. Jacobs can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape. Jacobs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Marcus Jones has been cut. Jones tries to hold on but Jacobs pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jacobs wants to control but Jones has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Jacobs slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jacobs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jacobs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jacobs moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jacobs tries to control but Jones wriggling away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones tries to hold on but Jacobs postures up. Jacobs fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That has opened up Marcus Jones's cut even more.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jacobs scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jones?
The cut above Marcus Jones's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Jacobs's attempts to control the action. Jacobs avoids the attempt from Jones to control. Jacobs wants to finish this one by submission but Jones is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jacobs. BOOM! Jacobs connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Marcus Jones's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Marcus Jones's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ryan Jacobs! Ryan Jacobs retains his lightweight title!
