The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gambacorto Jr blocks the body kick.
Cruz looks for the body kick but Gambacorto Jr saw that one coming.
Gambacorto Jr avoids the head kick by Cruz.
Cruz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cruz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Gambacorto Jr moves out of range of the body kick.
Cruz tries a head kick but it misses.
Cruz throws a right and a left that Gambacorto Jr avoids nicely.
Cruz scores with a decent looking hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gambacorto Jr is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cruz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cruz throws a front kick aimed at Gambacorto Jr's knee but Gambacorto Jr avoids it well.
Cruz lands with a thumping leg kick.

Gambacorto Jr fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Good work by Gambacorto Jr as he checks the leg kick.
Paulo Cruz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cruz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gambacorto Jr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gambacorto Jr slips a jab and a cross from Cruz.
Cruz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cruz tries to work over Gambacorto Jr's front leg with a kick but Gambacorto Jr checks it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cruz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cruz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Gambacorto Jr gets the takedown into side control.

Gambacorto Jr is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cruz has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gambacorto Jr is trying to get an arm triangle but Cruz is defending well.
Cruz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Gambacorto Jr has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Gambacorto Jr advances to mount.

Gambacorto Jr sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Gambacorto Jr is working for a guillotine from mount but Cruz frees his head quite easily.

Gambacorto Jr working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Cruz turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gambacorto Jr off and cradles Cruz's limp body as Gambacorto Jr celebrates with his corner.
