Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Glass Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Parham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rap Overdose. Parham is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by None. Doug Parham has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Glass Joe! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doug Parham! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe shoots for a takedown but Parham saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Parham wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Joe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Parham as he jumps to the side. A looping hook to the body misses from Parham. Joe does a little dance to reset his feet. Joe tries for a takedown but Parham sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glass Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parham connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parham to the mat! Parham manages to get full guard. Joe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Parham utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Joe throws a big right hand that misses. Joe scoring with some ground and pound. Parham wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Parham wants to sweep but no luck. Joe looking to sit in guard and control but Parham gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Parham not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parham accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Joe keeping moving, preventing Parham from controlling successfully. Parham advances position into side control! Joe stops Parham from passing to mount. Joe tries to improve position but can't. Joe stops Parham from passing to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parham wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joe keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Parham crashes against the mat.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Parham misses with a wild body shot. Parham looks to land a combination but Joe avoids it well. Parham lands a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Joe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Parham throws a right and a left that Joe avoids nicely. Parham throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Joe tries for a takedown but Parham circles away easily and Parham counters with a left to the body. Parham pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Joe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Parham to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Parham bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Joe's guard. Parham wants to pass the guard but Joe is keeping the position. Parham trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Parham looking to pass the guard. Doug Parham showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Doug Parham is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Joe wants to pass the guard but Parham is keeping the position. Glass Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Joe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
