Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that John Higgins was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Higgins! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Higgins forces Mir back against the cage and clinches. Higgins leaning against his opponent.
Higgins receives a warning from the referee for stalling. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Higgins creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Dan Mir has been cut. Higgins lands a body shot in the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Mir working hard to break the clinch. Higgins manages to break the clinch.
Mir could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Higgins scores with a takedown into Mir's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Higgins's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Higgins forces his way into half guard. Higgins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Higgins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Higgins scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Dan Mir's cut is getting worse. Mir is refusing to be controlled, as Higgins sits in half guard. Higgins is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mir has managed to free his arm - good work. Higgins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is trying to get back to full guard. Mir regains full guard. Nicely done. Higgins with a nice head shot there.
Jeez, Dan Mir's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dan Mir's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Higgins!
