Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Baine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howard Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baine comes into the arena with Bagpipes From Baghdad blaring out of the sound system. Howard Jones acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baine steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones. Baine moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off. Jones throws a body punch but Baine moves out of range. Jones takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jones finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jones is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Baine rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jones lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Baine's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Jones goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Baine breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

It looks like Howard Jones has been cut. Nice body kick there by Baine. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Baine thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jones is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Baine is controlling him well. Baine is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Baine has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baine manages to avoid it. Jones with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Baine to score with a decent uppercut. That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Baine holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Baine's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Baine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard. Baine trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Baine passes Jones's right leg, so he's now in half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones wants to stand and escape but Baine is having none of it. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Baine's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Baine thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
