Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paniagua drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Paniagua avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Paniagua scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Paniagua is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Brox is looking for a triangle but Paniagua pushes his legs off easily.
Brox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paniagua is one step ahead there.
Brox has his foot on Paniagua's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paniagua works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paniagua lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Paniagua rushes Brox and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Paniagua wants the takedown. Brox is fighting it off but Paniagua persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Brox's guard against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brox uses the cage to get back to his feet.

It looks like Randolf Brox has been cut.
Paniagua scores with a hook.
Brox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paniagua tries to avoid it but Brox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paniagua to the ground. Paniagua escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brox looks gassed!

Paniagua is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brox.
Brox drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Brox tries to move to mount but Paniagua blocks the move with his legs.
Paniagua wants to control but Brox postures up.
Paniagua tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brox works to advance to full mount. Paniagua defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Brox is looking to work his way around to Paniagua's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Paniagua is controlling an arm, preventing Brox from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brox stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Brox wants to improve his position but Paniagua is controlling well.

Paniagua looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brox with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters circling - Paniagua throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brox is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Paniagua's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Paniagua counters with a shoot takedown. Brox fights it but they end up in guard.
Paniagua drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Paniagua jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Brox is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Brox working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paniagua doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Brox is tightening it up a little... Paniagua has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Paniagua reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Paniagua taps out! nice BJJ there by Brox!
