Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Won Low! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dre Battle! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Low uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Battle. Jab, jab by Battle - just one landing.
It looks like Won Low has been cut. Low uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Battle. Battle leaves Low with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Battle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Low. Battle ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Low moves away. Low takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Low gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Battle. A big right from Battle misses. Low keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Low takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Battle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Battle lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A jab lands there for Battle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Battle leaves Low with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Won Low. That's going to take a lot out of him. Low misses with a hook to the body
and Battle counters with a nice body shot. Low is breathing heavily. Low on the wrong end of a nice hook. Battle throws a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Battle throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Low stumbling backwards into the cage! Low bounces back off the cage towards Battle, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Battle lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Battle celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dre Battle!
