Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robot Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Calton Cole!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cole to the mat! Cole manages to get full guard.

Cole had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joe defends it easily.
Cole keeping moving, preventing Joe from controlling successfully.
Joe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cole has momentary wrist control but Joe slips an elbow through the middle.
Cole keeping full guard, as Joe tries to pass.
Joe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Joe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cole is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cole has escaped and now he's on top!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Joe holds on and takes a little breather.
Cole wants to pass the guard but Joe is keeping the position.
Joe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Robot Joe just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Joe misses the shot to the body.

Joe shoots in and bounces Cole off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joe throwing strikes from guard but Cole blocks nicely.
Joe pushes down on Cole's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Joe is looking for a kimura but Cole is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Joe to get the leverage.
Cole looks gassed!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joe is working for a submission of some sort.

Joe has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Cole defend it? Joe steps over the head and cranks it - Cole is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Joe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Robot Joe!
