Christiansen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Christiansen throws a nice looking combination but Kirshaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kirshaw moves out of range of the strikes. Christiansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kirshaw tries to avoid it but Christiansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kirshaw to the ground. Kirshaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kirshaw lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Christiansen fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lars Christiansen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Christiansen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Christiansen rushes Kirshaw and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kirshaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Christiansen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Christiansen is breathing heavily. Kirshaw lands a nice looking body kick. Christiansen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kirshaw swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kirshaw throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. This has been an exciting period of action! Kirshaw lands a nice looking body shot.
Kirshaw scores with a push kick. Christiansen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kirshaw lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Lars Christiansen has been cut. Lars Christiansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slapping leg kick lands for Kirshaw.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kirshaw. That's going to slow Christiansen down.

Kirshaw connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Christiansen's hands. Kirshaw lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kirshaw circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kirshaw fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Christiansen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kirshaw is fending him off so far but Christiansen persists. Nope, Kirshaw circles away and we're back to standing. A jab from Kirshaw does it's job there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kirshaw moves into range and connects with a jab.

Christiansen is rocked! This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Christiansen. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Kirshaw throws an overhand right that drops Christiansen like a sack of potatoes! Kirshaw dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
