Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with The Pilgrim by Iron Maiden blaring out of the sound system. Sosa has chosen Maria Conchita - Vamos A Bailar as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alejandro Sosa! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sosa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Sosa shoots in but no luck this time. Sosa blocks a jab. Smith throws the left hand but Sosa avoids the punch easily. Smith looks to land a left hand but Sosa moved out of range nicely. Sosa jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sosa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The fighters circling - Sosa throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Sosa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Smith throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sosa counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Smith wants to get back to his feet. Sosa tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it. Sosa is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sosa goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Smith is on top in guard.
Sosa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smith won't allow Sosa to sweep him here. Sosa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Smith is looking to stand up but Sosa won't let him. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sosa is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Smith wants to get back to his feet but Sosa is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sosa wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position. Sosa stops Smith from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sosa is looking to advance position but Smith has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sosa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sosa regains half guard. Sosa gets full guard. Sosa tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Smith will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Smith misses the shot to the body. Sosa instigates a clinch. Smith manages to break the clinch.
Smith keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sosa. A jab from Sosa misses. Sosa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one. A big left from Smith misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Smith as Sosa shoots in. Sosa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith. Sosa tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance. Alejandro Sosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith misses the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sosa lands with an overhand left. Sosa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alejandro Sosa. Smith throws a series of punches but Sosa moves out of range. Sosa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes. Good shot there by Smith. Sosa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith. No luck for Sosa with that takedown attempt. Smith throws a big shot that misses. Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sosa on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Sosa tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Sosa takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Sosa fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Smith misses with a combination
and Sosa counters with a lovely straight right hand! Sosa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sosa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big right from Smith misses. Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sosa. Sosa scores with a jab to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. A decent looking cross lands there for Sosa. Smith swings away with a body shot that misses
and Sosa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking. Sosa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sosa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smith sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sosa scores with a sloppy right hand. Smith should have avoided that one. Sosa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away. Sosa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Sosa. Smith defending well as Sosa loads up on a big left hand. Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sosa. Smith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Smith misses with a shot to the body and Sosa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sosa looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith throws a hook but Sosa blocks it. Sosa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sosa throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily. Sosa comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sosa lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Sosa slips under a jab. Smith moves away from the strike by Sosa. Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sosa. Sosa takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Sosa needs to keep his hands up - Smith had a free shot at his head there. Smith throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sosa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sosa fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that John Smith will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Good shot there by Sosa. Sosa tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it. Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Smith connects with a single shot there. A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Sosa does a little dance to reset his feet. Sosa's corner calls for a 1-2. Sosa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Smith walks into a left hand. Sosa wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance. Smith scores with a punch to the head. Smith throws a big shot that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Smith there as he acknowledges the shot. Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A big left from Smith misses. Sosa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sosa. Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Smith paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sosa throws a hook but Smith blocks it. Sosa lands a right hook to the body.
Sosa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sosa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sosa is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Smith reverses the position - he's now on top in Sosa's guard. Sosa manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sosa wants to take his opponent's back but Smith doesn't allow it. Smith's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Sosa trying to control but he's not successful this time. Sosa working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith prevents Sosa from taking his back. Sosa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smith can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Sosa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Smith really wants to buck Sosa off and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sosa tries to control but Smith wriggling away. Sosa wants to finish this one by submission but Smith is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sosa. Sosa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape. Sosa takes Smith's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Smith is in trouble.
And that's the end of the fight! Alejandro Sosa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Smith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
