Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Logan Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kazama! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Kazama as Walker shoots in. Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kazama defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker. Walker is breathing heavily. Kazama fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Walker. Kazama has Walker up against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Walker's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kazama breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Walker takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Walker throws a series of punches but Kazama avoids them all with ease. Kazama throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Walker's head. No luck with that takedown attempt from Walker. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Logan Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kazama lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Good leg kick by Kazama there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kazama connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Logan Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kazama misses with a few strikes there.

and Kazama counters with a head kick. Kazama tries to clinch up. A jab from Kazama does it's job there. Walker has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Walker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A head kick from Kazama lands but Walker takes it in his stride.
Walker is rocked! Kazama throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Walker. Oh Walker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kazama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kazama misses with a two punch combination.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Walker. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kazama tries to circle away but Walker has him pinned against the cage. Kazama is trying to force a seperation but Walker has the dominant position. Kazama manages to break the clinch.
Walker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. You can see the frustration on Kazama's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kazama is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kazama is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Walker are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sloppy strikes there by Walker. Kazama manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kazama makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kazama. Kazama looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kazama looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Walker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Walker tries to free his leg and advance position but Kazama is retaining full guard. Walker postures up in Kazama's guard and throws a big left but Kazama blocks it. Walker wanted to stand there but Kazama had control of the position. Kazama looking for a sweep. Not yet Kazama, not yet. Kazama not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A head kick misses from Kazama. Walker throws a right hand that Kazama ducks under and follows up with a left that Kazama also avoids with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kazama lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Walker throwing strikes here but Kazama is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Logan Walker. I think Kazama has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
