Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jesh Masilungan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masilungan comes to the cage accompanied by Heaven Hell. Martin has chosen É so pentada violenta as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ramon Martin was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramon Martin! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masilungan throws a low kick, looking for Martin's leg but Martin calmly moves out of range. Masilungan lands with a nice body punch. Martin takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Ramon Martin has been cut. A combination from Masilungan does no damage. Masilungan throws a hook to the side of Martin's head but Martin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Martin throws a combination that misses and Masilungan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Martin wants to clinch but Masilungan slips to the side and Masilungan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Masilungan looks to land a left hand but Martin moved out of range nicely. Martin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Martin moves out of range of the body kick. Masilungan stuffs the takedown.

Martin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Masilungan avoids it really well and circles away. Martin throws a combination that misses and Masilungan counters with a three punch combo that has Martin backing up. Martin nods at Masilungan to acknowledge the strikes. Masilungan misses with an uppercut. Martin misses with a takedown letting Masilungan counter with a right hand. Jesh Masilungan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Martin. Masilungan jabs Martin right on the nose. Martin blinks but takes it well. Martin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Masilungan counters with a good low kick that Martin was not able to check.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masilungan lands with an uppercut that bounces Martin off the cage and back into rage. Martin fails with the takedown and Masilungan counters with a two punch combo. Martin looks to clinch and Masilungan counters with a slapping leg kick. Martin wants to clinch up but Masilungan keeps it at a distance. Martin misses with a two punch combination.
Martin throws a nice looking combination but Masilungan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Martin blocks a jab. Martin misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Masilungan can pounce on him.

and Masilungan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Nice straight punches there by Masilungan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Masilungan. Ramon Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Martin. Martin slips under a jab. Masilungan throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily. Martin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martin throws a wild body kick that Masilungan sees coming a mile off. Masilungan connects with a body shot. Martin cracks a nice hook into Masilungan's ribs. Masilungan tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Martin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Martin throws a combination that misses and Masilungan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Martin misses with a series of wild punches.
Masilungan is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Masilungan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Martin was well out of range. Poor timing from Masilungan. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Masilungan throws a nice outside leg kick. Martin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Masilungan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jesh Masilungan is winning the standup battle so far. Masilungan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Martin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin drives through with a takedown into guard. Martin wants to control from the top but Masilungan keeps moving. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Masilungan has his feet on Martin's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Martin throws a nice looking combination but Masilungan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Martin tries for a takedown but Masilungan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Martin defending well as Masilungan loads up on a big left hand. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Martin!

Masilungan misses with an uppercut. A low kick from Martin is predictable there and Masilungan counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Martin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Masilungan. Martin moves out of range as Masilungan strikes. Martin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters circling - Masilungan throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Masilungan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A head kick from Masilungan lands but Martin takes it in his stride. Martin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Masilungan can pounce on him.

Masilungan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Martin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Masilungan looking for a sweep. Not yet Masilungan, not yet. Martin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Masilungan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Martin, into his guard. Martin working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Masilungan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Martin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Masilungan slips nicely into half guard. Martin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Masilungan wants to pass the guard but Martin is defending well. Masilungan escapes and gets back to his feet. Jesh Masilungan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Martin with a poor takedown and Masilungan counters with a series of strikes. Martin will be more careful next time no doubt. Ramon Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Martin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Masilungan counters with a low kick, right behind Martin 's knee. Masilungan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Masilungan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Martin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Masilungan counters with a nice uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Jesh Masilungan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Masilungan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
