Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Connor Kelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felipe Calderon! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Calderon misses with a hook. Kelly ducked under it nicely. Kelly uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Calderon. The fight stays on the outside here - Kelly looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kelly shoots in looking for a takedown. Calderon tries to sprawl out of it but Kelly keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Calderon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Connor Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kelly fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kelly really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kelly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelly stalling away here and it's allowed Calderon to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Calderon keeping full guard, as Kelly tries to pass. Kelly trying to control but Calderon is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Calderon wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kelly manages to pass to side control. Calderon won't allow Kelly to pass to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Calderon tries to kick Kelly off but Kelly keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kelly is looking to advance position but Calderon won't allow it. Kelly controlling the action here. Calderon pushes Kelly off and gets back to his feet. Kelly tries to close the distance and clinch but Calderon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Calderon keeps the fight on the outside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly dives in and grabs Calderon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Calderon pushes down on Kelly's head and hops out. Kelly fails in his attempt to clinch. Calderon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Calderon throws a big shot that misses. Calderon connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Calderon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kelly. Kelly clinches up against the cage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Calderon wants to break free but Kelly has control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kelly swings wildly with an uppercut but Calderon uses good head movement to avoid it. Calderon blocks a body shot from Kelly. Kelly taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
A short right from Kelly on the inside. Kelly keeps control of Calderon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kelly lands a hook that snaps the head of Calderon backwards. Kelly wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connor Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kelly is pushing Calderon up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Calderon throws a punch but it's blocked by Kelly. Calderon stops a takedown attempt from Kelly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Connor Kelly dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Danga de danga de dang - Calderon scores with a four punch combination! Kelly closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Kelly drives through and clinches with Calderon against the cage.

Kelly's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Kelly digs a right hand underneath Calderon's ribcage. Calderon let out a lung full of air as it connected. Kelly scores with a hook to the body. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Calderon as Kelly tries to tie him up. Kelly stalling the fight.

That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Calderon's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kelly throws a punch but it's blocked by Calderon. Kelly trying to control the position but instead, Calderon has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kelly into the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Kelly.
A short body shot lands from Kelly as the two fighters clinch.
Kelly is struggling to control the position. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Connor Kelly. Calderon slaps away a takedown attempt from Kelly, before circling back to the center of the mat. Calderon tries to bum rush Kelly with a series of wild strikes but Kelly uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kelly ducks right into an uppercut from Calderon. Calderon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. No joy there for Calderon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Decent striking displayed by Calderon there. Kelly moves out of range of the strikes. Nice takedown defense from Calderon. No joy for Kelly on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connor Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kelly tries for a takedown but Calderon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Calderon missing with a left hand there. Kelly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Calderon connects with a right hand. Kelly shakes it off. Calderon defending well as Kelly loads up on a big left hand. Calderon loads up on a big right hand but Kelly slips the punch. Calderon tries a low kick but Kelly avoids it. Kelly doesn't manage to clinch there - Calderon circles away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Calderon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kelly. Kelly stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Felipe Calderon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Calderon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Calderon motions for Kelly to come forward. Calderon throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kelly throws a leg kick and Calderon counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Calderon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kelly.
Kelly gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Calderon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kelly scores with a jab. Calderon acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Kelly tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Calderon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's one minute gone in the round. Calderon throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kelly walks into a jab. Calderon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kelly was well out of range. Poor timing from Calderon. Kelly closes the distance looking to clinch and Calderon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A looping hook to the body misses from Calderon. Kelly does a little dance to reset his feet. Kelly tries to clinch but Calderon moves away and Kelly takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Calderon misses with the combination.
Kelly moves forwards but Calderon connects with a nice, crisp jab. Kelly wants to clinch and Calderon counters with a one-two to the body. Kelly wants to clinch but Calderon slips to the side and Calderon counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calderon connects with the punch. Calderon throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kelly counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Calderon! Kelly looking to control but Calderon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kelly fails to take his opponent's back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calderon tries to hold on but Kelly postures up. Kelly trying to control but he's not successful this time. Calderon is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Calderon tries to control the position but Kelly now has his back.
Kelly working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Calderon is doing well to defend. Kelly seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Calderon is forced to tap and this one is over!
