Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Smyth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smyth.
Smith misses the shot to the body.
Smyth misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smyth feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Smith's calf.
Smyth misses with a body shot.
Smith tests Smyth's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Smyth pushes Smith up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith blocking some punches.
The referee calls for Smith to work.
Smyth throws a knee to the head but misses.
Smyth comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Smyth tries to land knees in the clinch but Smith avoids the damage to the body.
Smyth lands a left hand.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Smyth keeps him there for the moment.
Smyth prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.
Smyth lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Smyth swings wildly with an uppercut but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith can't break the clinch.

Smith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Smith can't find room to land a body shot as Smyth controls the action.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Smyth ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.

John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Smith counters with a thumping low kick.

Smith avoids the head kick by Smyth.
Smyth falls off balance throwing a combination

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smyth has Smith pressed against the cage, preventing Smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Smith, right into the meat.
Smyth throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smyth is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Smyth has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Smith.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smyth throws a lazy body kick
and Smith counters with a right hand to the body.
Smyth is breathing heavily.
Smith lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Smith jabs at Smyth's body.
Smyth tries to move into range but Smith moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A low kick from Smith is predictable there
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Smith lands a body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smyth.
Smith's corner calls for a 1-2. Smith obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Smith jabs at Smyth's body.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smyth manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Smith dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Smith's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Smyth does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Smith walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Smyth checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Smith throws the left hand but Smyth avoids the punch easily.
Smith moves out of range as Smyth strikes.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Smyth has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Smyth and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Smyth swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The fighters circling - Smith throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smith scores with a jab to the body.
Smyth looks to clinch
and Smith counters with a good low kick that Smyth was not able to check.
Smyth moves out of range of the body kick.
Smith thows a body shot but no joy.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Smith in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Smyth lands with a cross.
Smith keeps Smyth at a distance using the push kick.
Smyth keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smyth pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Smith motions for Smyth to come forward. Smith throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Smyth drops his hands momentarily and Smith takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Smith with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Smith plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Smyth takes one on the button.
Smith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smyth was well out of range. Poor timing from Smith.
Smyth throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Smith jabs Smyth right on the nose. Smyth blinks but takes it well.
Smith ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
John Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith catches Smyth with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


Smyth is rocked!
Smith throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Smyth crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
