Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Arkley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen Bring Da Ruckus as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Arkley! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Silva! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Arkley sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arkley sprawls well. Arkley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. Arkley misses with a wild body shot. Arkley misses with a kick to the body.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arkley tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arkley to the ground. Arkley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. James Arkley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien Silva. Arkley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Silva sees it coming and avoids it easily. Silva shoots in but no luck this time. Arkley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Silva wants to control from the top but Arkley keeps moving. Arkley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Silva looking to sit in guard and control but Arkley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arkley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Arkley is aware though and is defending well. Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Arkley stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Arkley! Silva is trying to improve his position. Silva looking for a sweep but Arkley has passed into full mount! Oh no! Arkley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Silva working to try and regain half guard.
Arkley controlling from the full mount. Arkley has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Silva working to try and regain half guard.
Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arkley controlling the pace for now. Silva tries to lock up and control but Arkley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. That's four minutes gone in the round. Arkley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
James Arkley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Silva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Arkley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silva is in Arkley's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arkley trying to control the position here. Silva has gone for a leg lock! Arkley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard. Silva has his foot on Arkley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Arkley works his way back into a safe position though. Silva looking for a guillotine here but Arkley defends easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that James Arkley will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Arkley lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva. Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard. Arkley pulls Silva in close to his closed guard and prevents Silva from doing any damage or advancing position. Arkley working a defensive guard here.
Silva drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Arkley dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to control but Arkley passes easily into half guard.
Silva looking for submissions off his back. Silva is looking to control Arkley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted? Silva wants to get back to full guard. Still in half guard, Arkley seems content to control. Silva looking for submissions off his back. Arkley decides to stand and escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Arkley stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. James Arkley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien Silva. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arkley pinned against the cage. Arkley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Silva is breathing heavily. Arkley is looking to chop away at Silva's legs. Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Arkley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Arkley lands the left hand. Nice shot lands for Arkley.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arkley wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Arkley throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Arkley has taken the fight to the clinch.
Arkley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Arkley lands with an uppercut that bounces Silva off the cage and back into rage. Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Arkley.
Arkley moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. James Arkley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Silva looks to land a right hand but Arkley moved out of range. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Arkley as he jumps to the side. Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Arkley avoids it really well and circles away. Arkley dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Arkley's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Arkley duly obliges.
It looks like Damien Silva has been cut. Arkley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Arkley lands a big uppercut and Silva crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Silva looks OK. Arkley waves Silva back to his feet!
Silva is rocked! Arkley throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Silva stumbling backwards into the cage! Silva bounces back off the cage towards Arkley, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Arkley lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Arkley celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
