And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddie James!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James with a lazy takedown attempt

and Summers counters with a nice double leg into side control. James won't be happy with that.

Summers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. James knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The referee asks Summers politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Summers prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
James looking for a sweep but Summers has passed into full mount! Oh no!
James can't escape the position.
Summers looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Summers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Summers gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Summers bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


It looks like Freddie James has been cut.
James with a poor takedown

and Summers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Summers.
Summers lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of James backwards.

Summers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics James uses from the top position.
Summers keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
James wants to stand and escape but instead Summers has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

James controls Summers momentarily but Summers frees himself.
Summers works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Summers is sneakily working for an arm triangle but James sees it coming and defends easily.

Summers not doing much here.
Summers missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
James is looking to improve his position.
Summers passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for James!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Summers controlling from the full mount.

Summers stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
James misses with a combination
and Summers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Summers dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Freddie James's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Summers cracks James with a big right hand and James goes down!


James is rocked!

Summers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on James, up you get!
James is still on wobbly legs! Can Summers finish him?
James throws a predictable looking body shot
and Summers counters with a left to the body.
James seems to have recovered his senses.
James should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
James has his takedown stuffed
and Summers counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for James to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Summers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brett Summers!
