Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balboa comes into the arena with Punch Drunk blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Michael Balboa has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dan Gable! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gable throws a quick inside leg kick. Balboa throws a sloppy body shot
and Gable counters with a leg kick. Gable shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Balboa sprawls well. Balboa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gable gets slowly back to his feet. Balboa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gable. Gable misses with an uppercut
and Balboa counters with a left and a right that stings Gable. Gable looks for a takedown but Balboa sprawls well. Gable slips under a jab. Gable throws a quick inside leg kick. Gable misses with a body kick. Gable fakes the leg kick and cracks Balboa in the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gable connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Balboa's hands. A momentary lapse in concentration from Balboa enables Gable to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Balboa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gable slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gable's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Balboa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gable engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Gable throwing strikes from guard but Balboa blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gable pushes down on Balboa's leg and manages to get into half guard. Gable thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Still in half guard, Gable seems content to control. Gable lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gable tries to pass the half guard into mount. Balboa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gable keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Let's hope that Gable has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gable slips a nice elbow through Balboa's hands, connecting with Balboa's forehead. Gable sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Balboa defending well though. Gable is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Balboa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gable. Gable controlling the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Gable dominated that round. That's time! Balboa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Balboa has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gable. Gable slips a straight right by Balboa. A nice inside leg kick there by Gable. That's going to slow Balboa down. Balboa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Balboa lands with an uppercut that bounces Gable off the cage and back into rage. Gable shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Gable looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gable uses his free foot to push down on Balboa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Balboa. Gable controlling from mount. Balboa tries to buck Gable off but he can't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gable landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gable content just to control the position here. Gable is landing with some decent strikes but Balboa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Gable postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Balboa looks a forlorn figure.
Gable tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gable scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Balboa?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gable controlling from mount. Balboa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gable on the ground. Gable misses with a head shot. Balboa is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Gable sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gable with a couple of short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Gable showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Balboa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
It looks like Michael Balboa has been cut. Gable shoots for a double leg takedown but Balboa sprawls well. He's pushed Gable's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gable throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. A slapping body kick lands there for Gable. Gable connects with a leg kick. Balboa looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Gable throws a nice inside leg kick. Balboa is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Gable dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gable chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gable wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Gable turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nice uppercut lands for Gable. That snapped Balboa's head back.

Michael Balboa's cut is getting worse. Dan Gable seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gable is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Balboa's half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gable is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Balboa is in trouble now - Gable has advanced to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gable pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Gable looking to control and managing it successfully. Gable with shots to the head and body - Balboa looks very uncomfortable down there. Michael Balboa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gable controlling his opponent. Balboa wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gable.
