Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Thiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Upercut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lance Upercut is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Upercut fails with the takedown
enabling Thiago to counter with a crisp jab.
Upercut doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Thiago counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Thiago shoots in and gets a takedown into Upercut's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Thiago scoring with some ground and pound.
Upercut really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thiago. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Thiago is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Thiago got a little sloppy there for a moment and Upercut has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thiago has managed to get both his arms back between Upercut's legs - danger averted.
Thiago lands a couple of elbows.
Upercut thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Thiago trying to control the position from guard on top but Upercut is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Thiago passes Upercut's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Thiago is nestled in close to Upercut, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
