Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Huston Rustow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willie Wonka! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rustow closes the distance but Wonka moves to the side and Wonka counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rustow lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Willie Wonka has been cut. Huston Rustow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wonka ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wonka loads up on a big right hand but Rustow slips the punch. Wonka shoots in for a double leg but Rustow sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rustow drops Wonka with a beautiful combination! Wonka stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rustow is looking for the KO! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rustow tries to clinch but Wonka moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rustow fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Rustow misses with a wild combination.
Wonka tries for a takedown but Rustow circles away easily and Rustow counters with a straight right hand.
That has opened up Willie Wonka's cut even more.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wonka shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wonka showed some decent athleticism there. Rustow blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wonka. Wonka looks to land a strike but Rustow avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Rustow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Wonka landing with the ground and pound. Wonka is looking to advance position but Rustow has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wonka slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Wonka wants to improve his position but Rustow is controlling well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rustow tries to stand and escape but Wonka is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Huston Rustow dominated that round. The cut man is working on Willie Wonka's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rustow wants to clinch. Rustow tries to clinch up but Wonka circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wonka misses with the combination.
Wonka throws a combination that misses and Rustow counters with a nice kick to the body. Rustow wants to clinch. An inside leg kick from Wonka misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wonka tries for a takedown but Rustow circles away easily and Rustow counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wonka shoots in and drives through. Rustow sprawls well. Wonka swings widly with a right hand
letting Rustow counter with a right hand. Wonka fails to land the takedown. Huston Rustow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willie Wonka.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rustow swings widly with a right hand
and Wonka counters with a takedown into side control. Rustow pushes Wonka away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wonka gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Wonka is trying to get an arm triangle but Rustow is defending well. Rustow tries to escape but Wonka is in control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wonka in side control, throwing shots but Rustow defends. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Huston Rustow dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Willie Wonka's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Nice defenses there by Wonka. Wonka gets off balance looking for a body kick and Rustow counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rustow misses with a low kick. Huston Rustow is winning the standup battle so far. Wonka moves away from the strike by Rustow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wonka fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rustow on the side of the head. Rustow gets caught flat footed, as Wonka shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Wonka missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wonka thows a big elbow that misses. Wonka has gone for a leg lock! Rustow slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wonka's guard. Willie Wonka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wonka looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rustow tries to stand but Wonka is controlling from the bottom. Wonka wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wonka is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Wonka is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rustow rolls with it to try and escape but Wonka cranks on the arm and Rustow is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
