Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Bantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Dale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dale has chosen Try A Little Tenderness as his entrance music. Philip Dale told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Bantrell! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Philip Dale! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dale lands a head kick. Bantrell smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Dale lands with a cross. Bantrell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bantrell lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Philip Dale has been cut. Dale looks to throw a body kick and Bantrell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bantrell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dale throws a body kick that misses. Dale tries a head kick but it misses.
Dale cracks the inside of Bantrell's front leg. Bantrell avoids the head kick by Dale.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bantrell. Dale shrugs it off though. Dale looks gassed! Dale steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Bantrell. That one must have hurt. Bantrell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bantrell is looking to score with low kicks. Dale takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bantrell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Bantrell connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Dale tries to move into range but Bantrell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Bantrell slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bantrell doesn't manage to clinch there - Dale circles away.
The fighters circling - Bantrell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bantrell lands a right hook to the body.
Bantrell fakes the leg kick and cracks Dale in the body. Bantrell lands a big head kick that sends Dale tumbling to the mat! Bantrell takes a step backwards and waves Dale back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Dale is rocked!
That has opened up Philip Dale's cut even more. Dale takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Dale is still on wobbly legs! Can Bantrell finish him? Dale on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bantrell. Bantrell obviously looking to wear him down.
Bantrell darts in and clinches Dale up against the cage. Bantrell scores a nice knee to the body.
Bantrell working Dale over with knees to the body. With the fighters up against the cage, Bantrell throws an elbow but misses. Bantrell tries to land knees in the clinch but Dale avoids the damage to the body. Dale seems to have recovered his senses. Dale blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Bantrell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dale is defending well for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knees in the clinch landing for Bantrell.

Bantrell gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Dale blocks a body shot from Bantrell. Bantrell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Dale.

Philip Dale's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Bantrell using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Bantrell lands a hook to the side of the head. Dale breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bantrell connects with a right that clearly hurt Dale. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Bantrell proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Dale collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sebastian Bantrell! Sebastian Bantrell retains his heavyweight title!
