PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esko Morko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Destroy Everything. Morko has chosen The Sound Of Thunder as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Esko Morko!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russo has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Morko.
Russo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Morko counters with a nice kick to the body.
Morko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Russo throws out the jab.
The fighters circling - Russo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jimmy Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morko staying out of range there.
Russo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Russo gets the takedown into side control.
Morko is looking for a sweep.
An elbow from Russo crashes against the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Russo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Russo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Morko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Russo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Morko rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Russo's guard! Nice work there by Morko!

Morko wants to control from the top but Russo keeps moving.

Russo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Morko's guard.

Russo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Russo seems to be working for a kimura but Morko defends the submission attempt.

Russo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Morko defends it well.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Morko holds on and takes a little breather.

Morko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Morko can't keep his opponent in guard - Russo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Russo stalling away here and it's allowed Morko to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Russo is looking to work some ground and pound but Morko has wrist control.

Morko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Russo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Morko pulls Russo in close to his closed guard and prevents Russo from doing any damage or advancing position.

Morko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Russo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Horrible takedown by Russo or perhaps it was just good defense by Morko which made him look bad.

Esko Morko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morko knocks out Russo with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Morko before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Morko picks up the big W with a huge KO!
