Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Barreda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Upton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Upton is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shutterbug. Jesus Barreda is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesus Barreda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Upton! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barreda moves in looking to clinch but Upton pushes him off. Upton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barreda pinned against the cage. Barreda gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Barreda scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Luke Upton has been cut. A punch combination from Barreda misses. Barreda fails in his attempt to clinch. Upton closes the distance and pushes Barreda back into the cage. Upton throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
A frustrated look appears on Barreda's face as he tries to break the clinch. Upton lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Barreda backwards. Barreda tries a body shot but Upton blocks it.
Barreda is trying to break the clinch but Upton has him pressed against the cage. Barreda can't find room to land a body shot as Upton controls the action.
Upton lands a nice elbow from the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Upton lands with a short shot to the head. Barreda struggles to land a body shot inside as Upton controls his hands.
Barreda is defending well against a takedown attempt. Upton landing knees to the head.
Barreda lands with a short shot to the head. Upton lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A nice glancing elbow lands by Upton.

Barreda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Barreda slips under a jab from Upton. Upton dips to his left and cracks Barreda with an uppercut! Upton throws a series of punches but Barreda moves out of range. Upton lands with a kick to the temple. Barreda shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Barreda is looking to clinch. Barreda throws a right and a left that both miss. Upton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Upton working some nice short punches in the clinch. Upton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barreda walks away with a smile on his face. Upton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jesus Barreda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Upton. Barreda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Upton swats him away and circles back towards the center. Upton moves into the clinch. Barreda struggles to land a body shot inside as Upton controls his hands.

Upton tries to work over Barreda's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Upton tries for a takedown but Barreda manages to get underhooks.

Upton is trying to drag Barreda to the mat but Barreda just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Barreda misses with a punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Upton pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Upton creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Barreda's defenses. Barreda tries to work over Upton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Barreda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Upton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Upton looking to pass the guard. Upton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Upton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Upton throwing strikes but missing. Barreda avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Upton has gone for a leg lock! Barreda slips out almost immediately though and dives into Upton's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Upton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Barreda trying to control the position from guard on top but Upton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barreda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Upton on the ground. Barreda avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Upton is looking for a triangle but Barreda pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Upton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barreda defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Upton dominated that round. The cut man is working on Luke Upton's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Upton throws a jab when Barreda was well out of range. Barreda throws a right and a left that both miss. Barreda walks into a straight right hand from Upton. Upton blocks a jab. Barreda throws a series of strikes that have Upton backpedaling.
Upton dives in and grabs Barreda's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barreda pushes down on Upton's head and hops out. Jesus Barreda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Upton gets a clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Upton creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Upton blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Barreda tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Upton's elbow. Upton misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Barreda.
Upton takes a shot to the head. Upton working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barreda blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Barreda is trying to break free. Upton is trying to pull guard but Barreda has him pressed against the cage.

Upton goes for a takedown attempt but Barreda pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jesus Barreda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Upton. Barreda cracks Upton with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Barreda has closed the distance and engaged Upton in a clinch.

Upton goes for a takedown attempt but Barreda pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Upton is rocked! Barreda throws a right hand that Upton ducks under and follows up with a left that Upton also avoids with ease. Luke Upton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barreda walks into a stiff left hand from Upton. Barreda throws a right hand that Upton ducks under and follows up with a left that Upton also avoids with ease. Jesus Barreda is winning the standup battle so far. Upton misses with a body shot.
A decent looking cross lands there for Upton. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barreda tries to clinch up. Upton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Barreda.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Upton misses with a straight left. Upton is looking to land body kicks. Upton instigates a clinch. Barreda misses with the head strike.
Barreda works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Upton lands an elbow inside that Barreda shrugs off. Luke Upton seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Upton prevents a body shot from Barreda. Barreda misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Barreda prevents a takedown attempt there.
Barreda tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Upton has picked Barreda up - he's going for a ride! Upton dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Upton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Upton is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Upton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Upton is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Upton looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Upton is thwarting Barreda's attempts to control the position. Upton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Barreda defending well though. Barreda regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Upton. Barreda is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Upton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Barreda is keeping the position for now. Barreda controls Upton momentarily but Upton frees himself. Upton drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Barreda dives on top into guard. Upton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barreda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barreda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Upton looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Barreda passes into half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jesus Barreda will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Luke Upton's cut. That's time! Barreda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Upton is defended easily by Barreda. Barreda throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. The fight stays on the outside here - Barreda looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Barreda closes the distance and lands a one-two. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fight moves into the clinch position. Barreda misses with a hook to the ribs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Upton misses with a hook from the clinch. Upton comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Barreda avoids the elbow strike from Upton, against the cage.
Upton is looking to take this one to the mat. Jesus Barreda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Upton. Barreda doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Barreda breaks the clinch.
Barreda feints with a jab and clips Upton right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Upton is sent crashing into the canvas and Barreda leaps in for the kill! Upton tries to get to his feet but Barreda is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Upton is in need of a savior and steps in!
