Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buffalo Soldier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russel Ebert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soldier comes to the cage accompanied by IF I DIE TONIGHT. Ebert is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mean Street - Van Halen. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buffalo Soldier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Russel Ebert! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ebert misses with an uppercut. Soldier tries to clinch but Ebert moves out of range. Soldier scores with a hook to the body. Ebert takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Soldier pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Soldier misses with a hook. Ebert ducked under it nicely. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Soldier, as that shot connected.
Soldier takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A punch combination from Soldier misses. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Soldier, right into the meat.
Buffalo Soldier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soldier throws a leg kick which misses Ebert's front leg but catches the back leg as Ebert tries to avoid it. Ebert misses with a takedown attempt - Soldier sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Soldier wants to clinch up but Ebert keeps it at a distance. Soldier throws a looping overhand right but Ebert ducks down to avoid it. Ebert just misses with a punch to the body.
Ebert throws a series of punches but Soldier moves out of range. Ebert avoids a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ebert swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Soldier pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Soldier misses with a body shot.
Ebert cracks Soldier with a good jab. Soldier tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ebert paws at him with a jab and circles away. A nice leg kick lands there from Soldier. Ebert throws a lazy right hand but Soldier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ebert misses the jab. Ebert shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soldier sprawls well. Soldier wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ebert gets slowly back to his feet. Ebert looks to land a left hand but Soldier moved out of range nicely. A decent looking cross lands there for Ebert. Soldier throws a hook but Ebert blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soldier slips under a jab. Soldier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Soldier connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ebert's hands. Ebert misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Soldier.
Soldier avoids a punch combination nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A slapping body kick lands there for Soldier. Ebert looks gassed! Soldier thows a body kick. Ebert tries to catch it but that hurt him. Ebert ducks right into an uppercut from Soldier. Soldier lands with a thumping leg kick.

Soldier just misses with a punch to the body.
Soldier throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ebert stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soldier moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Soldier scores with a shot to the body.
Soldier cracks Ebert with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ebert looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Soldier finish him?
Ebert is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Soldier closes the distance and clinches. Ebert is still on wobbly legs! Can Soldier finish him? Soldier jerks Ebert's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Ebert drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Soldier goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Soldier because Ebert was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Buffalo Soldier! Buffalo Soldier decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
