Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Who Dat by Young Jeezy. Reed has chosen Bitkit - Explode as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Curtis Jones has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Curtis Jones! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Reed! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jones throws a hook to the side of Reed's head but Reed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jones lands a head kick!
Reed fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Reed tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.

Reed shoots in but no luck this time. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. Reed has a takedown stuffed. Curtis Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Travis Reed. Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Reed walks into a stiff left hand from Jones. Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reed will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Curtis Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reed throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed is looking to clinch. Reed lands a lovely overhand right. A head kick misses from Jones. Horrible takedown by Reed or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Reed shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Reed stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Reed looks gassed! Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Reed will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jones clinches up with Reed and pushes him back against the cage. Reed is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jones is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Reed. Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Reed is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones works his way into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones taking a breather here. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jones trying to control the position but Reed is working away. Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed can't do much from the bottom here. Jones tries for a kimura but Reed is defending well. Reed can't do much from the bottom here. Reed is looking for a sweep. Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jones in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Reed is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Curtis Jones! Curtis Jones retains his heavyweight title! An out of breath Curtis Jones thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
