Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry comes into the arena with Run For Cover blaring out of the sound system. Liddell has chosen Ice Cold as his entrance music. Lee Perry could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chuck Liddell's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lee Perry! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Liddell! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry throws a front kick aimed at Liddell's knee but Liddell avoids it well. Perry just misses with a punch to the body.
Liddell takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Liddell lands a head kick!
Perry pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Chuck Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Liddell fails in his attempt to clinch. Liddell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Liddell gets off balance looking for a body kick and Perry counters with a lovely shot to the body. Perry checks a leg kick nicely. Liddell throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Perry thumps Liddell with a low kick. Perry misses the shot to the body. Perry dives in and scores a takedown into Liddell's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Perry keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Liddell's head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Perry won't allow Liddell to get back to his feet. Perry working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Liddell's head. Liddell wants to stand and escape but Perry is having none of it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Perry preventing the sweep. Perry fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Liddell scores with a head kick. Perry tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Perry closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Liddell did well to prevent Perry getting side control. Liddell pushes Perry off looking to stand but Perry dives back in and keeps control.

Liddell bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Liddell stopping the sweep attempt from Perry. Perry working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Perry works over Liddell with some ground and pound from guard. Liddell working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Perry. Liddell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Perry won't allow Liddell to sweep him here. Liddell scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Perry takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Liddell lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Chuck Liddell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No luck with that takedown attempt from Perry. Perry throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Liddell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Perry looks to score with a jab to the body but Liddell is just out of range. Liddell throws a nice inside leg kick. Perry tries to work over Liddell's front leg with a kick but Liddell checks it. Liddell checks a leg kick nicely. Nice body kick from Liddell. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Perry misses with a left hand and Liddell counters with a slapping leg kick.

Liddell stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Nice uppercut there from Liddell. Perry looks to score with a jab to the body but Liddell is just out of range. Perry attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A big left from Perry misses. Liddell tries to land a leg kick but Perry saw it coming and moves away.

Liddell moves in looking to clinch but Perry pushes him off. Perry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Liddell moves away. A solid leg kick lands there for Liddell.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Perry in particular looking to stall. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Liddell blocking the ground and pound attempt from Perry. Perry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddell keeps working. Perry lands a big shot. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Perry working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Liddell wants to improve his position but Perry is controlling well.

Liddell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Perry fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Liddell to the ground. Perry is now in Liddell's guard. Liddell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Liddell is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perry looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Liddell is not content to let Perry control the position. Liddell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Liddell flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Perry lands a nice short elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddell kicks Perry off and gets back to his feet. Perry will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Liddell throws a head kick that half lands.
Perry looks to land a right hand but Liddell moved out of range. Perry is looking to wear down Liddell with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Perry checks a leg kick. Perry is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Perry blocks a low kick nicely. Perry scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Liddell looks to throw the jab but Perry is out of range. A big left from Liddell misses. Liddell ducks right into an uppercut from Perry. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Liddell lunges at Perry with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Perry's hand. Liddell works the jab nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lee Perry. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
