Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Utter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Charlie Utter was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Utter! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Utter throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rua closes the distance but Utter moves to the side and Utter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Utter cracks Rua with a solid left hand. Utter connects with a couple of short punches. Utter prevents Rua from getting back to his feet. Utter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Utter makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Utter throwing strikes but missing. Utter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Utter sitting in guard here, content to control. Rua keeping moving, preventing Utter from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Utter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. It looks like Utter might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Charlie Utter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Utter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Utter circles away from the clinch attempt and Utter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rua! Utter with shots to the head and body - Rua looks very uncomfortable down there.

Utter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Utter with a couple of short strikes. Rua is bucking up trying to escape but Utter cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Utter raining down shots from the mount! Utter breaks from Rua's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Utter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rua is breathing heavily. Utter scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Rua is rocked! Utter connects with a bit shot that sees Rua covering up! More strikes from Utter and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Utter is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie Utter! A relieved looking Charlie Utter thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
