Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eiji Kawashima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Barreda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barreda has chosen Rockstar as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eiji Kawashima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Barreda! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barreda fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barreda misses the jab. Kawashima tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barreda was well out of range. Poor timing from Kawashima. Barreda rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kawashima moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A punch combination from Barreda misses. Kawashima thuds his right hand into Barreda's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Barreda throws a hook to the side of Kawashima's head but Kawashima sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Barreda throws a right and a left that both miss. The fight stays on the outside here - Barreda looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Barreda throws a right hand that Kawashima ducks under and follows up with a left that Kawashima also avoids with ease. Kawashima rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Barreda counters by clinching up. Barreda tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Kawashima is trying to maintain a safe position but Barreda gets an underhook and turns Kawashima into the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Kawashima - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Barreda tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kawashima. Kawashima lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barreda backwards. Kawashima prevents Barreda from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barreda wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kawashima gets through Barreda's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Barreda tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Barreda misses with a body punch.

Kawashima is leaning against Barreda and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Barreda tries a body shot but Kawashima blocks it.
A right hook to the body lands for Barreda.

Kawashima scores with an uppercut up the middle. Kawashima lands a body punch in the clinch. Kawashima lands a left hand.
Kawashima prevents Barreda from breaking the clinch. Kawashima holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Kawashima makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Kawashima dodges an elbow strike from Barreda.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawashima works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barreda trying to land knees to the body.

Barreda looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jesus Barreda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kawashima cracks the inside of Barreda's front leg. Kawashima lands a body shot.
Kawashima lands with a shot to the body. Barreda looks gassed! Kawashima scores with a nice body kick.
Barreda walks into a stiff left hand from Kawashima. Kawashima lands a leg kick that knocks Barreda off balance momentarily. Barreda takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barreda takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Kawashima darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Barreda is rocked! Kawashima turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kawashima sends Barreda crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kawashima is motioning to the referee to let Barreda up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Barreda is still on wobbly legs! Can Kawashima finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barreda bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Kawashima comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Barreda falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Barreda was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eiji Kawashima! After winning the bout, Eiji Kawashima thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
