The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimble lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.
Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Clifford Smith has been cut.
Smith scores with a shot to the body.
Smith moves out of range as Kimble strikes.
Smith scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kimble doesn't seem bothered though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kimble lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.

and Smith counters with a nice leg kick.
Kimble is breathing heavily.

Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Smith slips a nice elbow through Kimble's hands, connecting with Kimble's forehead.
Smith drops an elbow to the side of Kimble's head.
Smith throwing shots but Kimble is blocking nicely.
Kimble has hold of Smith's hands but Smith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kimble defending well though.
Smith seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kimble keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Smith working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Smith frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith breaks from Kimble's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kimble tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
