11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Pynchon! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pynchon throws a nice looking combination but Utter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Utter looks to score with a jab to the body but Pynchon is just out of range. Utter throws a hook but Pynchon blocks it. Pynchon swinging wildly here.

Pynchon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Utter on his heels. He'll look to pass Utter's guard now, I'm sure. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Utter controlling the position. Utter is breathing heavily. Pynchon throwing strikes from guard but Utter blocks nicely. Pynchon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Pynchon won't allow Utter to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pynchon distracts Utter with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Pynchon throwing strikes from guard but Utter blocks nicely. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Pynchon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pynchon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Utter is trying to control the position but Pynchon postures up. Pynchon stands up over Utter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Pynchon is in close to Utter's body, working some short punches and elbows. Utter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Utter trying to keep a closed guard but Pynchon is proving a slippery customer.
Pynchon throws a big elbow that misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pynchon trying to control the position from guard on top but Utter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pynchon postures up in Utter's guard and throws a big left but Utter blocks it. Pynchon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Pynchon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pynchon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
