Svetnela comes to the cage accompanied by Angel of Death by Slayer. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svetnela keeps Angel at a distance using the push kick.
Svetnela takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Svetnela thuds his right hand into Angel's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Svetnela throws a leg kick which misses Angel's front leg but catches the back leg as Angel tries to avoid it.
Svetnela throws a head kick that misses.
Angel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Angel walks forward, straight into a front kick from Svetnela.
Svetnela connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Svetnela buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Svetnela throws a solid leg kick but Angel takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Svetnela.
Igor Svetnela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Svetnela fakes the leg kick and cracks Angel in the body.
Svetnela connects with the punch.
Angel misses with a looping right.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Angel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Svetnela - the referee stops the clock and Angel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Svetnela. Angel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Angel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Svetnela connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Angel scrambles back to his feet.
Svetnela throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Svetnela - that will leave a mark!
Angel looks gassed!
Angel has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Angel there as he acknowledges the shot.
Svetnela tries to land a front kick but Angel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Svetnela throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Angel throws a right and a left that Svetnela avoids nicely.
Svetnela throws a head kick that half lands.

Svetnela lands a big head kick that sends Angel tumbling to the mat! Svetnela takes a step backwards and waves Angel back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Angel is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A shot to the body from Angel misses
and Svetnela rattles Angel with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Angel tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Svetnela dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Angel stiff and motionless on the mat!
