Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Omar Bin Ladin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tidwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tidwell has chosen Papercut as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tidwell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bin Ladin but Bin Ladin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tidwell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tidwell showed some decent athleticism there. Bin Ladin wants to get back to full guard. Tidwell tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bin Ladin. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tidwell is trying to work for a kimura but Bin Ladin is defending well.
Tidwell wants to take a breather but Bin Ladin is having none of it. The fighters are battling for position here. Bin Ladin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bin Ladin keeping moving, preventing Tidwell from controlling successfully. Bin Ladin trying to control the position.

Tidwell crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bin Ladin - the referee stops the clock and Tidwell gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bin Ladin. Tidwell manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Tidwell gets cracked there but stands up to it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bin Ladin just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tidwell's brow. Tidwell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tidwell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tidwell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tidwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Tidwell postures up in Bin Ladin's guard and throws a big left but Bin Ladin blocks it. Tidwell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bin Ladin looking for a sweep. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tidwell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bin Ladin pinned against the cage. Bin Ladin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tidwell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tidwell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Tidwell preventing the sweep. Tidwell trying to control but Bin Ladin is working from the bottom.
