Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ming Xin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko's entrance music is You are the best around. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrei Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ming Xin!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Emelianenko. No joy for Xin on that attempt.
Emelianenko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Xin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A decent looking cross lands there for Emelianenko.
Xin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Emelianenko.

Xin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ming Xin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Xin tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance.

Emelianenko scores with a head kick. Xin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

No joy there for Emelianenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Emelianenko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Xin was covering up waiting for the punch and Emelianenko finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Xin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Emelianenko is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Emelianenko is in close to Xin's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Emelianenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Xin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Emelianenko has managed to get both his arms back between Xin's legs - danger averted.

Ming Xin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Xin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Xin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Xin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Emelianenko manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Emelianenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Xin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Andrei Emelianenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Xin prevents Emelianenko from getting back to his feet.
Xin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Xin wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ming Xin was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Xin has his takedown stuffed
and Emelianenko counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Xin fails to land the takedown.
Andrei Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ming Xin.
Xin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Xin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Emelianenko as he jumps to the side.
Xin tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance.
Xin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Emelianenko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Xin somewhat.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Emelianenko connects with a couple of short punches.
Xin is still in real trouble! Can Emelianenko finish him?
Emelianenko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Xin's guard.

Emelianenko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Xin defends it well.

Emelianenko is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Xin seems to have recovered his senses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Xin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Emelianenko swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Xin.

Xin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Emelianenko counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Xin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Xin blocks the body kick.

Xin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Xin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Xin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Xin shoots for a takedown but Emelianenko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Xin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Emelianenko won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Emelianenko is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Xin rolls with it to try and escape but Emelianenko cranks on the arm and Xin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
