And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terrell Suggs!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suggs misses with a left hand

and Polunu moves into the clinch.

letting Suggs counter with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Polunu takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Polunu misses the body punch
and Suggs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Suggs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Polunu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Polunu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Suggs misses with a hook to the body
and Polunu counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Suggs is looking to slow Polunu down with leg kicks.
Suggs fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Suggs uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Polunu.
Polunu takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Polunu misses with a hook.
A shot to the body from Suggs misses
and Polunu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Polunu bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Suggs's head.
Suggs looks to land a left hand but Polunu moved out of range nicely.
Polunu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Polunu avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Koa Polunu will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Suggs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Polunu throws out a loose jab but Suggs uses good head movement to avoid it.
Polunu moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Suggs throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Polunu looks to score with a jab to the body but Suggs is just out of range.

Terrell Suggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suggs avoids the body shot from Polunu.

Polunu drives through with a takedown into Suggs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Koa Polunu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Polunu swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Suggs is now in Polunu's guard. A big mistake from Polunu there, giving up the dominant position!
Suggs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Polunu has his feet on Suggs's thighs here. He's pushed Suggs off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Suggs screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
