Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernie Els (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danza Kuduro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Els comes to the cage accompanied by Cassidy - Wake Up. Kuduro has chosen Suikoden IV - A Formidable Enemy Arrives as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ernie Els! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danza Kuduro! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Kuduro is predictable there and Els makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. A low kick from Kuduro misses enabling Els to counter with a crisp jab. Els keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Els uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kuduro has time to react. Kuduro throws an off balance right hand
and Els counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Els takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Kuduro throws a leg kick that is checked and Els counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kuduro throws a head kick that misses. Els misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Els looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick by Kuduro misses and Els counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A nice leg kick lands there from Kuduro. Kuduro connects with a looping right hand.
Els uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kuduro. Ernie Els is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kuduro misses with a shot to the body and Els makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Kuduro throws a nice inside leg kick. Kuduro lands with an overhand left. A slapping body kick lands there for Kuduro. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kuduro is trying hard to land a takedown here. Els sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Danza Kuduro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Els misses with an uppercut. Kuduro saw that one coming. Els keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kuduro. Kuduro scores with a hook to the body. Els takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kuduro. Ernie Els has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danza Kuduro. Kuduro takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A solid leg kick lands there for Kuduro.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuduro tries to work over Els's front leg with a kick but Els checks it. Kuduro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jab from Kuduro. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kuduro lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Els has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Els and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Kuduro misses with a hook. Kuduro connects with a nice looking jab.

enabling Els to counter with a crisp jab. Kuduro lands a jab to Els's midsection.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kuduro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Els is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kuduro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Els as he avoids it easily. Kuduro cracks Els with an open hand slap. Els tries to clinch up. Kuduro lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kuduro. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kuduro looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Els blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kuduro. Kuduro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kuduro is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Danza Kuduro will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Good shot there by Kuduro. Els has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kuduro. Els leaves Kuduro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Els looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kuduro throws a leg kick and Els counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kuduro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kuduro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Els circles away quickly and effectively. Els steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kuduro. Els lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Kuduro throws a body punch but Els moves out of range. Kuduro takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Els, as that shot connected.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kuduro. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kuduro throws a leg kick and Els makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kuduro really felt that one! Kuduro tries to land a leg kick but Els saw it coming and moves away.
Kuduro connects with an inside leg kick. Kuduro stuns Els with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kuduro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Els. That did some damage! Kuduro throws a big shot that misses. Kuduro pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuduro misses with an uppercut. Els saw that one coming. Kuduro throws a half hearted mid kick. Kuduro connects with a solid leg kick. Els keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kuduro misses with a shot to the body and Els counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kuduro walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kuduro throws a big shot that misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kuduro moves out of range of the strikes. Danza Kuduro seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kuduro misses with a lunging right hand
and Els counters with a lovely straight right hand! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kuduro misses with a low kick. Kuduro is looking to clinch but Els is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Danza Kuduro will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Els staying out of range there. Kuduro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Els slips a jab from Kuduro. Kuduro throws a leg kick but Els sees it coming and moves out of range. Kuduro looks to land a left hand but Els moved out of range nicely. Kuduro misses with a body shot.

and Els counters by moving into the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Els. Kuduro wants the takedown. Els is fighting it off but Kuduro persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Els's guard against the cage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuduro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Els not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Kuduro scores with a nice short uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Kuduro fails to land. Els lands a hook that snaps the head of Kuduro backwards. Kuduro is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Els tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Els is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Els misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Kuduro has picked Els up - he's going for a ride! Kuduro dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kuduro is looking to take a break and control but Els is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Els is trying to maintain the position but Kuduro is very close to passing his half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kuduro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that's the end of the fight! Danza Kuduro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kuduro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Danza Kuduro! Danza Kuduro decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
