Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Garrett Bisley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bisley comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omar Mendes! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bisley avoids a punch combination nicely.
No luck for Bisley with that takedown attempt. Bisley moves into range and clinches up with Mendes. Bisley prevents Mendes from breaking the clinch. Mendes is trying to break the clinch but Bisley is controlling him. Bisley is working Mendes over against the cage. Bisley lands a hook that snaps the head of Mendes backwards. Bisley lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Mendes wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bisley tries to throw a body punch but Mendes avoids it by throwing Bisley back against the cage. Bisley throws a head punch that misses. Mendes tries to circle away but Bisley has him pinned against the cage. Bisley lands on the inside with an uppercut. Bisley lands a body punch in the clinch. Bisley keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mendes's efforts to push away.

Bisley lands a body shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mendes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Bisley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mendes throws a right hand that Bisley ducks under and follows up with a left that Bisley also avoids with ease. Mendes throws a right and a left that Bisley avoids nicely.

and Bisley counters by moving into the clinch. Mendes is trying to break free. Mendes wants to get back to striking at distance but Bisley won't allow it.

Bisley throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mendess head. Bisley misses with a short punch on the inside. Mendes wants to get back to striking at distance but Bisley won't allow it.
Bisley breaks from the clinch.
Mendes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mendes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mendes misses with a right hand and Bisley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mendes's guard now. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bisley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mendes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bisley trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bisley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mendes can do anything to dispel that myth. Mendes keeping full guard, as Bisley tries to pass. Bisley with a flurry of punches that miss. Bisley showing good wrestling skills to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mendes stuffs the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Garrett Bisley dominated that round. That's time! Bisley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mendes loads up on a big right hand but Bisley slips the punch. Bisley misses with a low kick. Mendes tests Bisley's chin there with a solid looking shot. Bisley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bisley clinches with his opponent.
A frustrated look appears on Mendes's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mendes wants to get back to striking at distance but Bisley won't allow it.
Bisley scores with a nice hook to the head. Bisley displaying some good clinch control by pressing Mendes up against the cage. Bisley breaks the clinch.
Mendes misses with a double jab
and Bisley makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Mendes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters circling - Bisley throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bisley shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Mendes throws a combination that misses and Bisley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bisley cracks Mendes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A cross from Bisley lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Mendes scores with a jab to the jaw. Omar Mendes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bisley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mendes manages to avoid it. Omar Mendes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bisley throws a leg kick which misses Mendes's front leg but catches the back leg as Mendes tries to avoid it. Bisley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mendes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bisley. Bisley is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Bisley dips to his left and cracks Mendes with an uppercut! Mendes throws a series of punches but Bisley moves out of range. Bisley misses with a hook. Mendes ducked under it nicely. Mendes lunges at Bisley with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bisley's hand. Mendes looks for the body kick but Bisley saw that one coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendes swinging wildly here.
Garrett Bisley is winning the standup battle so far. Mendes tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Bisley swings for the body but Mendes moves out of range.
Mendes's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bisley under the eye. Bisley scores with a jab to the head.
Mendes throws a right and a left that Bisley avoids nicely. Bisley avoids a kick to the body.

Mendes cracks a nice hook into Bisley's ribs. Mendes throws a combination that misses and Bisley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bisley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mendes sees it coming and avoids it easily. Bisley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendes moves away.

Bisley thuds a left hand into Mendes's body. Mendes takes one on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bisley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mendes. Mendes gets tackled into the cage by Bisley. Bisley maintains the clinch. Bisley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bisley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bisley cracks Mendes with an open hand slap. Bisley is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Mendes getting the better of the striking in that exchange. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jab from Bisley. Bisley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mendes walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bisley misses with a wild body shot. Bisley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mendes napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mendes prevents Bisley from moving into mount. Mendes managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bisley.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Garrett Bisley. Bisley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mendes misses with a looping right. Bisley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mendes sees it coming and avoids it easily.

A looping hook to the body misses from Bisley. Mendes does a little dance to reset his feet. Bisley misses with a shot to the body and Mendes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bisley scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Mendes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mendes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bisley sizes up Mendes with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Bisley takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Bisley lands a right hook to the body.

Mendes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bisley slips under a jab. Omar Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bisley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mendes.

Omar Mendes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mendes moves into range and connects with a jab. Mendes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A head kick by Mendes misses and Bisley makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Mendes really felt that one! Mendes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This has been an exciting period of action! Bisley lands with a good body shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mendes tries to sprawl but Bisley drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that's the end of the fight! Garrett Bisley showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bisley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
