Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgan's choice of entrance music: Sherry Monocle. Simon Morgan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Redmond! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Simon Morgan! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morgan takes a jab right on the kisser.
Morgan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Morgan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Redmond checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Morgan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Redmond closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Morgan did well to prevent Redmond getting side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Redmond throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Redmond missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Redmond trying to control from Morgan's half guard. Morgan has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Morgan controls Redmond momentarily but Redmond frees himself. Redmond sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redmond throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morgan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Redmond trying to control but Morgan is working from the bottom. Redmond chips away with some ground and pound. Morgan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Redmond in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Redmond trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morgan can do anything to dispel that myth. Morgan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Morgan has momentary wrist control but Redmond slips an elbow through the middle. Morgan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Redmond controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Redmond trying to control the position from guard on top but Morgan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Redmond forces his way into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redmond missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Morgan is staying active underneath Redmond, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Redmond sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Morgan defending well though. Morgan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Redmond. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Morgan trying to control from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Redmond connects with a nice short shot to Morgan's temple. Redmond throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Redmond has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Morgan is working to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morgan wants to control but Redmond is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nathan Redmond dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Redmond throws a left and a right that both miss
and Morgan counters with an inside leg kick. Redmond tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Morgan swivels and escapes. Morgan misses with a shot to the body and Redmond counters with a three punch combo that has Morgan backing up. Morgan nods at Redmond to acknowledge the strikes. Redmond shoots in and drives through. Morgan sprawls well. Redmond fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Redmond. That's going to take a lot out of him. Redmond scores with a jab. Morgan acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Redmond throws a right and a left that Morgan avoids nicely. Morgan throws a leg kick which misses Redmond's front leg but catches the back leg as Redmond tries to avoid it. Redmond takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A nice inside leg kick there by Morgan. That's going to slow Redmond down. Morgan bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Redmond closes the distance looking to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redmond shoots for a double leg takedown but Morgan sprawls well. He's pushed Redmond's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Redmond throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Morgan.
Morgan wants to slow Redmond down by chopping away at his legs. Morgan explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Redmond fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Morgan avoids it really well and circles away. Nathan Redmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redmond throws out a loose jab but Morgan uses good head movement to avoid it. Morgan connects with a nice looking jab.
Redmond throws a hook but Morgan blocks it. Redmond throws an off balance right hand
and Morgan counters with a right hand to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Redmond looks to land a combination but Morgan avoids it well. A decent looking body kick lands there for Morgan. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Morgan tries a head kick but it misses.
Redmond fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Morgan on the side of the head. Redmond throws the left hand but Morgan avoids the punch easily. Morgan scores with a leg kick.
Good leg kick by Morgan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Simon Morgan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Morgan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Redmond is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Redmond shoots in looking for a takedown. Morgan tries to sprawl out of it but Redmond keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morgan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Redmond shoots in for a double leg but Morgan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Redmond looks to land a combination but Morgan avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redmond throws a lazy uppercut
and Morgan counters with a nice kick to the body. Morgan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Redmond. Morgan throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Morgan lands a leg kick that knocks Redmond off balance momentarily. Morgan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Morgan connects with a solid leg kick. Redmond walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Morgan goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Nathan Redmond has been cut. Morgan lands with a nice combination. Redmond backs away looking to recover.
Redmond is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Redmond throws a poor cross that misses
and Morgan scores with a counter punch that sends Redmond to the canvas! Morgan smells blood - he's punishing Redmond with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Redmond has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
