Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Scheckler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ted Scheckler told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sterling Archer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Scheckler! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scheckler tries to work over Archer's front leg with a kick but Archer checks it. Scheckler throws a sloppy head kick and Archer moves out of range easily. Both fighters circling a little - Archer finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Scheckler throws a body kick that misses. Archer lands a right hook to the body.
Scheckler turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nice defenses there by Archer. Archer looks to score with a jab to the body but Scheckler is just out of range. Scheckler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Archer. Scheckler throws a leg kick and Archer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Archer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Scheckler throws a nice looking combination but Archer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Scheckler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Archer on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Scheckler misses. Good leg kick by Scheckler there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Archer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Scheckler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Archer tries a head kick but it misses.
Sterling Archer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Archer scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Scheckler scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Sterling Archer has been cut. Scheckler is looking to score with low kicks. Scheckler has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Archer finds it's way round the side to connect with Scheckler's head. Archer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Scheckler to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scheckler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Archer swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scheckler passes Archer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Archer is trying to control but can't.
Scheckler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Archer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Scheckler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Archer has managed to free his arm - good work. Archer is refusing to be controlled, as Scheckler sits in half guard. Scheckler working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Archer's thigh. Archer counters though and makes it back to full guard. Archer wants to sweep but no luck. Archer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scheckler manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Scheckler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Scheckler is pulling down on Archer's head to control his posture. Archer stays in close to Scheckler's body and controls the position. Scheckler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Archer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Scheckler is tightening it up a little... Archer has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Archer reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Archer taps out! Nice BJJ there by Scheckler!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ted Scheckler! Jumping up and down and very excited, Ted Scheckler waved his t-shirt featuring TFP Graphics - Pit Inc's logo in front of the cameras.
