Ames comes to the cage accompanied by Ludacris - Get Back. Smyth has chosen Painkiller - Pendulum feat. Freestylers as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Smyth!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ames will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Smyth counters with a good, hard body kick but Ames shrugs it off.
Smyth dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smyth lands a big head kick that sends Ames tumbling to the mat! Smyth takes a step backwards and waves Ames back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Smyth tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ames paws at him with a jab and circles away.

It looks like Nathan Ames has been cut.
Smyth is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ames rather than just go for the knockout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Smyth in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Ames shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smyth sprawls well. Smyth wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ames gets slowly back to his feet.

Well Smyth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
