Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remy LeBeau! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Vronsky! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A chopping leg kick lands by LeBeau. Vronsky slips a jab from LeBeau. LeBeau uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vronsky. Vronsky blocks a head kick by LeBeau.

Vronsky staying out of range there. LeBeau throws a lazy uppercut
and Vronsky counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. LeBeau looks to score with a jab to the body but Vronsky is just out of range. Some bone on bone action there as Vronsky checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. LeBeau throws a front kick aimed at Vronsky's knee but Vronsky avoids it well. Vronsky thows a left - swing and a miss! Vronsky swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Vronsky is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. LeBeau is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Vronsky tries to free his leg and advance position but LeBeau is retaining full guard. Vronsky in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. LeBeau keeping full guard, as Vronsky tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vronsky wants to control from the top but LeBeau keeps moving. Vronsky has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Vronsky stopping the sweep attempt from LeBeau. Vronsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. LeBeau manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

LeBeau seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vronsky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. LeBeau wants to stand but Vronsky has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Vronsky makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vronsky.

Vronsky sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed LeBeau's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! LeBeau is trying to stand.

Vronsky is keen to just control but LeBeau is a slippery customer. LeBeau looks like he's trying to stand up.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Vronsky wants to control from the top but LeBeau keeps moving.

Michael Vronsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and LeBeau counters with a slapping leg kick. LeBeau connects with a leg kick. Vronsky looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Vronsky takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Vronsky has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from LeBeau. LeBeau will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

LeBeau sprawls well initially but Vronsky persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Vronsky is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and LeBeau reverses the position - he's now on top in Vronsky's guard. Vronsky is pulling down on LeBeau's head to control his posture. Vronsky is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. LeBeau has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

LeBeau lunges at Vronsky with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Vronsky's hand. This has been an exciting period of action! LeBeau thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Vronsky if he has to take too many more of those.

Vronsky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. LeBeau swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vronsky throws an elbow that misses. LeBeau uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vronsky's guard. Nice move by LeBeau! Vronsky keeping moving, preventing LeBeau from controlling successfully. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. LeBeau connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vronsky's hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
