Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donald Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Lodin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake comes into the arena with Battle for Asgard blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Blake!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Lodin!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blake connects with a nice looking jab.
Blake throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blake ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lodin moves away.
Lodin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Frank Lodin has been cut.
A slow jab from Lodin misses its intended target.
A head kick misses from Blake.
Lodin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blake.
Lodin closes the distance and clinches up with Blake, looking for a takedown. Lodin pushes Blake against the cage but Blake circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Blake misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lodin throws a poor cross that misses
and Blake counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Donald Blake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blake gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lodin.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blake throws a good cross that connects.

Blake throws the kick towards the body but Lodin avoids it.
Blake on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Blake throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Blake digs a good body shot into Lodin's ribs.
A chopping leg kick lands by Blake.

Lodin moves out of range of the strikes.

A big right from Lodin misses.
Good leg kick by Lodin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Blake catches Lodin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Blake - that will leave a mark!
Blake fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lodin.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lodin.
Lodin throws a series of punches but Blake moves out of range.
Lodin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Donald Blake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Lodin.

Lodin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Lodin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lodin dodges the punch combination from Blake.
Blake displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lodin.
Blake is looking to slow Lodin down with leg kicks.
Blake connects with an inside leg kick.
Lodin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Good work by Lodin as he checks the leg kick.
Donald Blake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Blake cracks the inside of Lodin's front leg.
Blake throws a good cross that connects.
Blake throws a push kick but Lodin slaps the foot to one side.
Lodin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Blake.

Lodin is trying desperately to land a takedown but Blake is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lodin.
Crunch! Blake slams his shin into Lodin's torso.

Blake scores with a nice head shot.
Blake cracks Lodin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


Lodin is rocked!
An inside leg kick lands from Blake.
Lodin is still on wobbly legs! Can Blake finish him?
Blake is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Blake lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Lodin falls backwards - clearly groggy! Blake dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donald Blake!
Donald Blake retains his light heavyweight title!
During a confident post fight interview, Donald Blake thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
