Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Koa Polunu!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Polunu moves away.
Rua tries to sprawl but Polunu drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Rua is staying active underneath Polunu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Polunu prevents Rua from improving his position.
Polunu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rua doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Polunu.
Polunu wants to pass the guard but Rua is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua is trying to get back to full guard.
Rua has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Polunu. Oh but Rua has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Polunu goes limp - he's gone! Rua jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Gabriel Rua!
Gabriel Rua took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
