The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacLeod swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tran slips a jab and a cross from MacLeod.

Tran shoots in for a double leg but MacLeod sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. MacLeod looks to land a combination but Tran avoids it well. Tran shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. MacLeod throws a shot from downtown. Tran moves away and avoids it. MacLeod drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tran is positioning himself to get back to half guard. MacLeod stands up.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Mark MacLeod just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. MacLeod scores a takedown into full mount! MacLeod controlling the pace for now. MacLeod is landing with some decent strikes but Tran is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! MacLeod tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tran looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

MacLeod has the hooks in. Tran is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. MacLeod just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
