The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Paulsen.
Christianson throws the left hand but Paulsen avoids the punch easily.
Paulsen throws a series of punches but Christianson avoids them all with ease.
Jan Paulsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Christianson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Paulsen can pounce on him.

That was a close round but I would say that Jan Paulsen will probably get the nod.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Paulsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Paulsen throws a sloppy strike and Christianson uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Christianson has ended up in Paulsen's guard.

Paulsen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Christianson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Paulsen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Christianson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Christianson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
